Mario J. Miranda, he is the Andersons Professor of Finance and Risk Management in the Department of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics, The Ohio State University. His credentials include: 1) author of “Applied Computational Economics and Finance”, a textbook adopted for graduate courses taught at many of the top-ranked economics doctoral programs in the world; 2) published in leading international journals, including the American Economic Review, Review of Economics & Statistics, Economic Theory, Journal of Economic Dynamics & Control, Journal of Applied Econometrics, and the American Journal of Agricultural Economics; 3) author of two of three most frequently cited articles on “agricultural insurance” according to ISI database; 4) seven years Director of his department’s PhD program, which was recently ranked by the USA National Research Council as the top doctoral program in its field in USA; and 5) experienced international economic consultant, having worked on World Bank, USAID, and UN Development Programme projects in Nicaragua, Morocco, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Ghana, Honduras, and Costa Rica.
