The international journal China Agricultural Economic Review (referred to as CAER, quarterly, ISSN Serial No.: 1756-137X) supervised by professor Xin Xian, the Deputy Secretary-General of Center for Rural Development Policy has recently been indexed by the internationally renowned Science Citation Index Expanded(SCIE)和Social Sciences Citation Index(SSCI) at the same time. And it became the third academic journal in economics field to be indexed by SSCI in mainland China. At present, only more than 300 SSCI papers published in the mainland China every year and the inclusion of the journal published by our college can help establishing a good international image of China’s agricultural economics.
With China’s accession to the WTO and the furthering deepening of global economic integration, China’s agricultural development and agricultural economics research have attracted more and more attention from the international community. At the same time the international forefront agricultural economic theory and empirical research have achieved attention from Chinese agricultural economic experts and scholars. In order to further strengthen the academic exchanges at home and abroad, China Agricultural University started comprehensive cooperation with the internationally famous publishing group Emerald and the Chinese version China Agricultural Economic Review (CAER) revised into an English international academic periodical since 2008. The major research fields that CAER interested in are agricultural theories and policies, agricultural market, agricultural trade, investment in agriculture, rural finance, resource economics and environmental protection, agricultural research and promotion, employment, labor and migration, industrialization of agriculture, rural sociology, development economics, farmers’ behavior, rural cooperatives, non-farm industry development in rural areas, etc. Through the joint efforts by the editorial department and the academic committee of the journal, CAER has gradually become a high-level platform for academic communications for domestic and international agricultural economists.
The editor-in-chief of CAER is professor Xin Xian, the Dean of the College of Economics and Management, China Agricultural University, and professor Dan Summer who works in Agricultural and Resource Economics Department of Davis Campus, University of California and Tian Weiming who works in College of Economics and Management, China Agricultural University serve as co-editors. CAER also hires more than 40 experts from America, Britain, Japan, Canada, Australia, Brazil, India, New Zealand, the Netherlands and mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong as members of editorial committee. CAER runs strictly in accordance with the mode of operation of international journals and implements a two-way anonymous reviewing system. To promote the study of China’s agricultural economic issues, a teacher from College of Economics and Management, China Agricultural University donated reward for high-level papers published each year in CAER. The amounts of the three rewards are $3,000, $1,000 and $1,000 respectively.
