 
In the afternoon of April 26, “Party Building Leads CYL Building and Further Promote Communist Youth League Series Excel in Performance Activities Work Conference” was held in Beijing Conference Center. In the conference 30 outstanding young person, including professor Xin Xian, deputy secretary-general of Center for Rural Development Policy won the 25th “May 4 Medal for Beijing Youth”. This is for the first time in nine years that a teacher from our school again won the honor.
“May 4 Medal for Beijing Youth” is presented once a year and it is the highest honor for Beijing Youth. The medal is granted by Communist Youth League Beijing Municipal Committee and Beijing Human Resource and Social Security Bureau for the youths who have outstanding performance and contribution in their own posts. The purpose is to establish the example of excellent youths who are political progressed, of high moral standard and outstanding contribution.
Professor Xin Xian won the 25th “May 4 Medal for Beijing Youth” for his achievements in research and teaching. It is learned that Xin Xian has been teaching for 16 years and he is one of the youngest professors in our university. Xin’s research on agricultural products’ prices, food safety, and international trade has raised widespread concerns and many policy recommendation reports written by him have been taken by national decision-making departments. The international English journal he founded and served as editor, China Agricultural Economic Review, has been indexed by the internationally renowned authority retrieval system SSCI and SCIE and became the thirdChinese mainland humanities and social sciences SSCI indexed academic journal which fill the blank of international academic journals in the field of China’s agricultural economy. In addition, he also won the title of outstanding teacher of our university and a number of researches presided over by him have won national, provincial and ministerial awards. |
