



October 22, 2012, the third China Agricultural Economic Review(CAER)international academic conference is held at agricultural expo conference center of West Hope Group (WHG) in Chendu, Sichuan province. This conference is co-organized by CRDP, CAER, CAU, IFPRI and WHG. The theme is “Is China Entering a High Food Price Era?”. CAER chief editor, Prof. Xinxian who is also the dean of CEM, is the chair of the conference.
Mr. Guo Da, the vice president of CAU, delivered welcome remark and briefly introduced the achievement obtained by CAU in scientific research, talent cultivation, social work and international communication. And he pointed out that grain issue is not only highly related to economy and livelihood but also linked to the global development and stability. He thought that under the background of global food price volatility this conference is very meaningful on food security and economic development and he hope that it can be achieved fruitful research results.
The conference invited several famous experts in agricultural economy to deliver keynote speeches, including Paul Dorosh from IFPRI, Terry Roe from University of Minnesota, Tian Weiming from CAU, Henry Kiccucan from Auburn University, Guopei from CAU, Thomas Wahl from North Carolina State University and Changqing from CAU.
CAER is an academic journal published by Emerald in association with China Agricultural University and Chinese Association of Agricultural Economists, and has been accredited for SSCI (Social Science Citation Index) and SCIE (Science Citation Index Expanded). |
